Love is…

27 May

Jeffrey has one lovie that he is obsessed with, a large stuffed tiger (named Grr) that unfortunately is no longer being made. Otherwise I would own fifteen of them. On Sunday we went to the zoo and bought him a smaller version as well as an elephant.

When I gave it to him he got a huge smile and shouted “tiny grr!”

Later on when I put him down to bed he requested both tigers to sleep with. Then he hugs them both close and tells me “I have TWO Grrs, Mama.”

Clearly love is having Two stuffed tigers to love and adore.

The joy in his eyes and in his language never fails to make me smile.

Morgan has a Bunny that is her lovie. Bunny was a gift from Aunt Steph for Morgan’s first Easter and had anyone known Bunny would THE lovie, we’d have bought everyone we could get our hands on. Bunny is certainly showing some wear and I can only wash her every 6 months. Bunny’s not allowed out of the house (except on long trips away from home or overnight trips) as I’m terrified she’ll get lost or run over or hijacked by some little punk. Morgan has several other stuffed animals that MUST be in her crib at night: Doggie, Little Doggie, Piglet and Hoppy (aren’t we original with their names?). Unfortunately, all of THOSE are ones I can no longer find, too.

    Of course, right?

Generally Grr is not allowed out of the house but I occasionally make exceptions (obviously when he’s visiting overnight) and VERY rarely to daycare. He also sleeps with Monkey, Pengin, Whoo, Moo, Bunny, The killer bunny with sharp pointy teeth, the new white kitty (as the old white kitty died a tragic washing machine death), his pillow, and now tiny grr and elephant. (Also incredibly original names!) He has several others that he cycles in and out. The kid LOVES stuffed animals.
