We have an exciting weekend planned people. So exciting that I may nod off while telling you about it.
We are watching the Tour de France. Yes, Brian and I are Tour freaks. We record the entire 21 days. My child never having any exposure to television is allowed to watch bicycle racing because we may waste away if we can not watch each stage. (Okay, only on weekends is Jeffrey allowed to be in the room while the tv is on. I am a tv nazi when it comes to my child).
After watching Stage 7, we will take to the road to … brace yourself for the excitement … buy a new flag. Our old flag is pretty ragged so it is time for a new one. The veteran outreach center has a store downtown and we thought they would a good place to give our money to. After the flag purchase we plan on going to Lowes and buying three new ceiling fans. Two for our upstairs rooms and a new one to replace the disgustingly ugly one in the living room. We also plan on going to a movie at some point. Brian is very eager to see Transformers, so we plan on trying that out this weekend.
Of course, I am on call for work this weekend, so who knows if I’ll actually be doing any of this.
For anyone who cares, today (Bastille Day in France).
On the first mountain stage of the Tour, Linus Gerdemann of T-Mobile takes the stage win, the yellow jersey (leader of the tour, the white jersey (best young rider) as well as being named the most aggressive rider of the day. Pretty exciting day for him, huh. I believe that Michael Rasmussen of Rabobank is wearing the polka dot jersey (king of the mountains) and Robbie McEwen of Lotto is still wearing green (sprinters jersey). Tomorrow looks to be another exciting day in the Alps. woo hoo.
