The weekend that was

02 Jul

Had a fabulous weekend! On Saturday, we met Liane for dinner and swapped out the baby. She took him for the night and we went to a movie (Live Free and Die Hard) by ourselves and then met friends for a show at the Comix Cafe. We really enjoyed the movie, lots of stuff blows up. It was a tough choice because there are so many movies that I want to go see right now and we only get a few chances to go. At the comedy club we hung out with friends Kevin and Kimberly and Jeff and Katie. It was the first time we had seen K&K since they’ve returned from their honeymoon. We had a really great time seeing everyone. After the show we hung out with the comic Mike Dambra, he’s friends with Jeff and Katie.

Sunday morning we woke up late, drove to Liane’s and had a late breakfast at James Brown’s Place. It’s an awesome little diner on Culver. Liane goes there all the time and we try to hang out as much as possible.  After breakfast we took Jeffrey to Stride Rite and bought him new shoes. The kid is wearing a size 51/2. How in the heck did he get so big? We bought him a pair of sneakers and a pair of sandals. Hopefully they’ll last him through the rest of the summer.

All in all, it was a wonderful weekend. Brian and I got some time to ourselves and we still got to spend fun time with Jeffrey.

This week coming up is going to be pretty crazy. We’re here Monday but we leave after Jeffrey’s OT appointment on Tuesday for Pittsburgh. We’ll be down there through the 4th and for my cousin Miriam’s wedding. That means I have to make sure we have everything tonight and pack the van. Groan. Brian has a meeting at the ambulance at 8pm, so it’ll just be me hauling crap out. I’ll be happy once we get on the road and successfully arrive at chez Sheppard.
