Wedding Extravaganza Weekend #1

19 Jun

Such a busy busy weekend. We went to Kevin and Kimberly’s wedding on Friday. It was beautiful and fun. We ran into alot of friends that we haven’t seen for awhile and had a great time. The alcohol was plentiful, the kids were adorable and Belhurst was just gorgeous.

After the wedding we decided we weren’t too tired so instead of crashing at a hotel, we drove out to Kurt and Steph’s to crash. We got there at about 2:30am and immediately went to sleep. Saturday morning we hung out a bit, went to breakfast and then headed off to Dee and Dave’s wedding.

The day looked perfect when we arrived. The hot sun was beating down on everyone trying to finish up preparations. I think we were all glad that the wedding wasn’t until four so maybe it would cool down a bit. The weather said there was a slight chance of showers and at around 3:45, the clouds rolled in and it started to rain. Actually it began to hail. On the outdoor wedding. The backup spot- a giant tent for the reception – began to flood. It went from perfection to nightmare in about ten minutes. We waited until about 4:30 until the rain lightened up and you could see it wouldn’t last forever. People started cleaning up the dance floor in the tent and the bridal party changed gears for a wedding under a tent.

The results were a beautiful ceremony, Dee and Dave surrounded by friends and family. The weather cleared so that we could take pictures outside. It was a very enjoyable event ending with fireworks (courtesy of Dave’s friends) in the night sky.

We tried to drive home from the wedding but ended up stopping on the Thruway to rest for a few hours. We ended up home at about 5:30am.

We are tired. We missed the baby. We had a good Father’s Day. Hope all of you did as well.

Glad the wedding turned out fine despite the weather.

Glad you made it home–hopefully things will return to normal 🙂
