Car Saga part whatever or why Dodge really sucks!

Since we last left our intrepid Dodge Stratus, it was stranded at Brian’s workplace unable to be driven. It required new struts which could not be replaced because the strut mounts were on back order. We got a rental for a month through our insurance, fairly certain that all would be resolved within that 30 day window.

Oh how little we knew.

The strut mounts aren’t just a little backordered. There are 9,000 backordered nationwide. The person Brian spoke to at Dodge said that none are in production and they don’t PLAN on EVER putting them in production. Translation: Buy a new car sucker because this $25 part isn’t ever coming back!

He gave us the names and numbers of the last 7 dealerships in the country that were known to have parts. By the time we spoke to them? All gone. And we were like number 42 on the list of people who called.

I freaked out because I really don’t want to buy a new car! Not when I put $800 into it the week before this happened and over a $25 part!!!
Long story short, Brian managed to find the part in San Diego. They’ll only sell it to us with the entire strut but I don’t care. It’s cheaper than a new car.

All I know is. NEVER buy a Dodge!! The reasoning for not putting the part in production is that they’re all from cars that are out of warranty so Dodge doesn’t really care about them any more. F%^& you Dodge!
I would now like to change my outgoing answering message to Dodge sucks, and to do anything else I can to ensure Dodge’s demise. I’m sorry if people work there but clearly they have no heart and would rather lose 9000 customers than fix a problem they created with a shoddy part. It has comfirmed my hatred of American cars and you sure as heck will never see a new one in my driveway again!
